Message Dear Z community,

It has been brought to my attention to give the most to this community of which i possibly can. I have strayed very far from the VG30DE/ VG30DETT powerplant. But the only way i am going to be able to do this is to put off my current engine plans. Instead i am going to test all products that i am goint to make for the Z on my car. I purchased a Z motor today. From here i can perform many of the unorthodox mods to the motor. Going into the basics the Z motor will have plenty of S&A Polishing and FiTec Designs parts that will be avaliable for the Z community very soon.

From this platform i will be doing the following modifications that i will test for the Z. These test will be on a dyno, flow benched, and track proven, as well as daily driven streetablity. This will not be your typical Z build up with fancy expensive parts. The main focus of this whole project is to go against ordinary tuning in the aftermarket department. Making huge power is not the goal, that will just be a by product of what is to come out of the project.

The motor will just be your typical motor. From here the tear down will begin. What isn't needed shall be deleted. When the block and heads are a part the magic begins.

Begining with the block a full deburring on the interior of the block, cryogenic treatment, porting the center water jacket, new freeze plugs, the block will recieve ARP head studs and main rods. Clevite bearings and SwainTech together should make a free spinning crank.

The Girddle will also be treated as well to deburring to decrease windage in the block. Every edge on the inside and outside will be deburred giving stress free smooth inside and outside. The blocks cylinders we recieve a fresh honing.

As we move on to the rods and pistons. The pistons will remain the same. The pistons will be cleaned and fitted with a new seal kit, as well as cryo treated and swain tech coated. The rods will be deburred and massaged to give a more uniform shape free of stress risers, the rods will also be lightened if need be. They will, then recieve cryo treatment as well as play a major role in strengthened internals.

We have not forgot about the crank. Micropolishing, cryro treatment, larger holes for the crankshaft will be camafured for more lubrication, the bolts on the crank will be TIG welded so they stay in place. We will also give a slight knife edge to the crank to cut through the oil better. As well with Swain Tech oil shed coating on all internals.

The lighten pulley, rods, pistons, crankshaft, flywheel and clutch will all be balanced and blueprinted. This setup should give us no vibrations or crank walk.

We then move to the mid portion of the engine. A new set of head gaskets will be replaced. We focus our attention to the heads. A full cleaning is a given at this stage of the game. We will then deburr and smooth the insides and outs of these heads. A full 5 angle valve job will be given as well as special attention focused not only the intake and exhaust ports, but the bowl as well. Resurfacing is a must. Then will matched to the lower intake plenum. We will leave the stock cams in place. This platform will prove to be a wonderful test bed for many of FiTec Designs new products.

A few of the many mods that we will be doing.
-FiTec Designs GT28R bolt on turbo kit.
-FiTec Designs Dual chambered -equal lengthed intake
manifold
-FiTec Designs Tubular exhaust manifolds
-FiTec Designs Top-feed injector conversion
-FiTec Designs Solid Motor mounts
-FiTec Designs Side Mount intercoolers
-FiTec Designs Full exhaust system from the dowpipe back
-FiTec Designs Larger intercooler piping upgrade
-FiTec Designs NA and TT hardpipe kits with integrated BOV
mounts(TT)
-FiTec Desings Liquid Propane injection kit
-MicroTech EMS LX12 w 4bar map, wideband 02, 32x32 res
-MicroTech EMS Dash Unit
-the rest of your small bolt ons
-A full list of mods will be accessible soon. After some testing has been performed the engine will be for sale at ZCON 2005. As well with all new FiTec Designs products, S&A Polishing parts, and MicroTech EMS will be avaliable.
-The engine will also be laiden with S&A Polishing work all over it. Down to the last pieces will be replaced with stainless steel bolts. Polishing and powdercoating will be a work of art.

All of these parts will be handmade, we will not rebadge our products as our own. We only want to bring the best to this community. Please take note of this project as it will be getting full write up coverage from it.

Thank you for your time,

Shawn Lane
